Rich is an Operating Executive for several Private Equity funds including Berkshire Partners and brings more than 30 years of Technology and Cybersecurity leadership to the Office of the CIO program at Berkshire Partners. Rich founded and currently serves as CEO at Esito LLC, a firm focused on serving technology and cybersecurity needs in the Private Equity Industry, he and his team of seasoned CIOs and CISOs serve several top quartile Private Equity Funds and more than 100 Portfolio Companies. Rich has more than 13 years of CIO experience including serving as a Global CIO at National Grid (a $20B+ Global Utility) and at Boston Scientific (a $10B+ Global Life Science company), and as an Interim CIO for 5 public and private companies. Rich began his career at Accenture where he served as Partner in the Industrial, High Tech and Life Science industries. Rich has served on the boards of GHX and ERT who are both digital cloud solution providers serving the Life Science industry, and presently serves as a Board Advisor on cyber security for several Private Equity backed companies.

Rich is a respected results-oriented leader, a noted technology innovator who is a sought after expert in Cyber Security and technology matters. Rich is a recognized digital expert with proven experience harnessing digital technology to transform and grow businesses, and to create new innovative businesses. As a Global CIO, Rich was recognized for his pioneering work in digitizing Boston Scientific’s Sales and Marketing functions and creating innovative Digital Health solutions. His experience turning the company’s Information Systems organization into a strategic enabler for the business was featured in several publications including the book “The Transformational CIO”. Rich has received the HMG Transformation CIO Award, was named a Purdue Outstanding Industrial Engineer, was named to the CIO100 and the Information Week top 250 Innovators. Rich is also a named inventor in two US and one European Patent and has been quoted and featured in several books and leading publications including the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, the New York Times, and Apple’s Execs Talk video series.
