Aleksandar Videnovic, MD

Dr. Aleksandar Videnovic is a Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School, Chief of the Division of Sleep Neurology at Mass General Brigham (MGB) and Director of the MGH Program on Sleep, Circadian Biology, and Neurodegeneration. He completed a Neurology Residency and Fellowship in Sleep Medicine at Northwestern University and a Fellowship in Movement Disorders at Rush University. He holds a master’s degree in clinical research from Rush Graduate College. Before moving to MGH in 2013, Dr. Videnovic was on the faculty in the Department of Neurology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. As a clinician-scientist, Dr. Videnovic has devoted his research to the interface of sleep, circadian biology, and brain health, biomarker discovery in neurodegenerative disorders, and the development of new therapies for neurological disorders. He directs the clinical and research program on REM Sleep Behavior Disorder (RBD) at MGH and serves as Lead of the Recruitment, Education, and Outreach Core for the North American Prodromal Synucleinopathy (NAPS) RBD Consortium. Dr. Videnovic is a Co-Chair of the Steering Committee for the Gut-Brain Communication in Parkinson’s Disease Consortium (GBPDC) and has served on the Executive Steering Committee for the Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative for the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. He serves as Co-PI at the Clinical Coordination Center for the NeuroNEXT Network for Neuroscience Clinical Trials. Dr. Videnovic has served in leadership roles with the American Academy Neurology, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, International Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Society and Parkinson Study Group. He is past president of the International RBD Study Group.
