WMIF MAIN SITEDr. Edlow is a critical care neurologist at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where he is Associate Professor of Neurology, Co-Director of Mass General Neuroscience, and Associate Director of the Center for Neurotechnology and Neurorecovery. Dr. Edlow’s research focuses on the development of advanced neurotechnologies to detect, predict and promote recovery from traumatic brain injury. His lab’s work has been continuously funded since 2010 by grants from the NIH, DOD, and multiple foundations. He is the recipient of the 2019 NIH Director’s New Innovator Award, the 2022 American Neurological Association’s Derek Denny-Brown Young Neurological Scholar Award, the 2023 Chen Institute MGH Research Scholar Award, and the 2024 Navy SEAL Foundation Scientific Achievement Award. Dr. Edlow serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Neurocritical Care Society’s Curing Coma Campaign, the Editorial Board of the Journal of Neurotrauma, the NINDS Common Data Elements Project for Traumatic Brain Injury, and as Chair of a traumatic brain injury study section for the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs. He is also the Principal Investigator of the DOD-funded ReBlast study, which aims to develop a diagnostic test for brain injury from repeated blast exposure in United States Special Operations Forces. The goal of this work is to enhance the combat readiness, career longevity, and quality of life of the Special Operations Forces community.
