Choi-Fong Cho, PhD

Choi-Fong Cho, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Neurosurgery at Mass General Brigham Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Her lab engineers human blood-brain and blood-tumor barrier models to accelerate therapeutic discovery for CNS diseases and brain tumors. She received a PhD in Medical Biophysics and Oncology at Western University in Canada. She was awarded a full fellowship from the Canadian Institute of Health Research for her post-doctoral training in the Neurosurgery Dept at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She then received a Career Development Award from the Department of Defense to start her own independent research lab. Currently, her lab is funded by the National Institute of Health and the Department of Defense. At WMIF, she will discuss how next-generation BBB and BTB platforms can de-risk CNS pipelines and enable brain-targeted therapeutics.
