Rebecca Heist, MD

Dr. Rebecca Heist is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Associate Director of Clinical Research at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Cancer Center. She is a member of the Thoracic Oncology and Termeer Center clinical research groups. Dr. Heist’s research focuses on clinical trials of novel investigational agents in lung cancer. She leads first-in-human clinical trials of investigational drugs, and has also served as the PI of multiple clinical trials in later phases of development in lung cancer, including as the co-chair of several national cooperative group trials through the CALGB/Alliance. Dr. Heist collaborates extensively with translational and scientific colleagues to elucidate mechanisms of response and resistance to therapies in lung cancer. The overarching goal of her research is to provide new treatment options for patients with lung cancer. She is an active member of ASCO, IASLC, and ESMO, and serves on the Continuing Medical Education Committee for IASLC and as a Developmental Therapeutics Faculty Member for ESMO.
